The Expedition Route

A Journey Worth the Trip

Iquitos Region · Loreto, Peru

Airport Lodge

1 · Airport (IQT) 2 · Fundo Pedrito 3 · San Miguel Community 4 · Yanayacu River ★ · Lodge

Brisa Tropical Eco-Lodge sits along the Yanayacu — a quiet tributary that branches south from the Amazon River, deep into the rainforest. The lodge is reachable only by boat — and that seclusion is what puts you right among the Amazon's wildlife and its richest, hardest-to-reach experiences.

Step by Step

Six stages, three hours, one unforgettable arrival

1

Step 1

Airport Arrival

Start of your journey

You'll land at Iquitos International Airport (IQT — Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International). Iquitos is the world's largest city not connected by road; everyone arrives the same way you do — by air.

2

Step 2

Motokar Transportation

≈ 25 minutes

From the airport, hop into a motokar — Iquitos's signature three-wheeled taxi — for a short, lively ride through the city to the river port. Your first taste of jungle Peru.

3

Step 3

Boat Ride — Amazon River

≈ 2 hours

Board a private boat for the most scenic stretch of the journey. You'll travel down the famous Amazon River with views of jungle flora, fauna, and riverside communities along the way.

4

Step 4

Jungle Walk

≈ 15 minutes

Disembark at San Miguel community and take a short walk through the village and into the jungle. We'll transport your luggage by vehicle so you can travel light and take it all in.

5

Step 5

Boat Ride — Yanayacu River

≈ 20 minutes

One last boat ride down the quieter Yanayacu River. The jungle gets denser, the water turns dark and reflective, and you'll start to feel just how remote you've come.

6

Step 6

Brisa Tropical Eco-Lodge

Total journey ≈ 3 hours

Welcome home. Settle into your bungalow, grab a cold drink, and take a deep breath — you've arrived in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon.
